Sustainability on a daily basis

Whether it was at school, in a magazine or on the news, we've all heard about Sustainability, but how can we have a more sustainable lifestyle?

First, it is necessary to understand that the concept of sustainability was initially introduced in 1987, in the Brundtland report, commonly known as Our Common Future, where this concept is approached as the ability to satisfy the needs without compromising the future of the generations to come.
How can we make our lives more sustainable?

  • Responsible consumption, through the reduction of food waste, the consumption of products from your region, the commitment to a circular economy and energy efficiency;
  • Sustainable mobility, with the reduction of the use of own vehicles to the detriment of public transports, use of electric vehicles and bicycles, by carpooling, etc;
  • Sustainable food, with the consumption of organic products, seasonal foods and the reduction of meat and fish consumption;
  • Sustainable design, by investing in national brands with sustainable production, thus avoiding fast fashion brands that put workers' rights at risk, are accused of resorting to child labor and that do not take into account sustainable production processes;
  • Recycling, correctly recycling our waste and avoiding the consumption of single-use plastics;
  • Environmental education, raising the awareness of the people around us about the importance of the actions of each one of us for a better future.

If we take into account the points mentioned above, we can reduce our impact on the planet and fight for a prosperous future for future generations.
